Sarah Denny

Silver, Yorkshire

Sarah Denny is a silversmith committed to traditional, labour-intensive hammering techniques, hand-raising silver vessels from flat sheets. Her work consists of one-off, sculptural objects that explore the beauty of form in silver. ‘Objects should be considered thoroughly – inspected from different angles. I like to be able to direct someone’s viewpoint and to highlight various aspects of a form.’

Sarah gained her MA from Sheffield Hallam University in 2007, and her work is already in private collections both in the UK and abroad. She has exhibited at Contemporary Applied Arts, the V&A and Goldsmith’s Hall. The CAA represented her at both Collect 2009 and Collect 2010.
